Notes for Using the Computer Classroom in the Levine Building
Scheduling the room
To reserve the room for a course, please contact Michal Shoval.
Software
The computers run Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2
and have the following software installed.
- Web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox)
- Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Adobe Reader
- Secure Shell Client (SSH, SFTP)
If you need additional software, please contact Irit Orr
at least one week in advance.
Problems
If you have any problems with the room,
please contact Irit Orr or Marilyn Safran.
Rules of use
Please help us keep the room in good working order.
- Do not change the screen resolution or other aspects of the
computer setup. If you want to hook up a laptop to the projector,
follow the instructions below.
- Do not allow food or drink to be brought into the room
- Report problems promptly
- When leaving the room:
- Leave the computers on
- Turn off the projector
- Turn off all the heating / air conditioning units. This can be
tricky; cup your hand around the end of the remote control to
focus the beam on one unit at a time.
- Put the doorstops on the ledge under the whiteboard
- Put garbage into the receptacle
- Close the windows
- Turn off all the lights, including the spotlights controlled
by the dimmer switch
- Close the door and make sure that it locks
